LOWEN
ABOUT
Lowen (Emily Kopp) is a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and artist. Whether you know her by name or not, you’ve likely heard her voice, songwriting, and productions. From sync placements on major networks like Showtime, Cartoon Network, & NBC, to brands like Android, Google, Volkswagen and more, Lowen and her catalog are a force. Before creating her raw and revelatory debut body of work, Lowen experienced a transformation that entirely reshaped her identity as an artist. After releasing music, touring the country independently and eventually landing in an early burnout, she embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, taking months at a time in living in countries across the globe, where she found her balance. Soon after returning to the U.S. she moved to Nashville and started writing songs again. This time embracing her instincts more fully than ever. To honor that profound shift in perspective, she began creating music under the name Lowen (a nod to her mother’s maiden name & Jewish German ancestors who’d emigrated to Colombia). She deliver's unguarded honesty while tapping into the vibrant musicality she first began cultivating as a child. It’s organic, it’s raw, it’s rock. While explaining her process she says, “I feel like a culmination of all the experiences I’ve had, except now I have the lens and wherewithal to harness it. I feel like I’m locked in, and know how to express, without overthinking anything, and it feels so good to trust myself completely.”
